Dr. Vladislav Krasnov (Russian: Владислав Георгиевич Краснов) is a Russian and American scholar, writer, political contributor and advisor. While his scholarly works were published with his name spelled as Vladislav Krasnov, his social and political commentary appears under the name W. George Krasnow. During his US academic career, Vladislav Krasnov obtained a Master's degree in Slavic languages and a Ph.D. in Russian literature from University of Washington. He taught and conducted research at University of Texas, Austin, Southern Methodist University, Monterey Institute of International Studies, and Hoover Institution at Stanford University. He also was a visiting researcher at Sapporo University in Japan.

Gilbert Doctorow is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College (1967), a past Fulbright scholar, and holder of a Ph.D. with honors in history from Columbia University (1975). After completing his studies, Mr. Doctorow pursued a business career focused on Russia and Eastern Europe. For twenty-five years he worked for US and European multinationals in marketing and general management with regional responsibility. In the year 2000, he closed his corporate career as General Director in Russia and the CIS for the U.K. based multinational, Diageo. From 1998-2002, Doctorow served as the Chairman of the Russian Booker Literary Prize in Moscow.
Since 2006, he has regularly published analytical articles about international affairs on the portal of the Belgian daily La Libre Belgique, as well as in traditional print media including The Moscow Times. He is the author of two books in the political science field including a collection of essays on Russian-American Relations, 2008-12. He is a Research Fellow of the American University in Moscow and an occasional guest lecturer at the St. Petersburg State University. Doctorow is a long time resident of Belgium.
