On behalf of RAGA I send our condolence and sorrow for the Russian people for the loss of their brave sons in a just struggle in Syria against the spread of extremism in the world.

2. Stephen F. Cohen is one of the foremost peace champions. He asked us to forward what follows:
On Friday, December 4, 2015 at 7:30 p.m., Stephen F. Cohen will be the guest in the pulpit at Temple Emanuel of Great Neck. He will offer the talk, “Why Cold War Again?”
Stephen F. Cohen is Professor Emeritus of Russian Studies, History and Politics at New York University and Princeton University. He is also a member of the founding Board of Directors of the recently established American Committee for East-West Accord (eastwestaccord.com), a pro-detente organization that seeks rethinking and public discussion of US policy toward Russia. He is married to Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor and publisher of The Nation.
Temple Emanuel of Great Neck is located at 150 Hicks Lane, Great Neck, NY 11024. For further information, please call 516.482.5701.
Those who cannot attend to the talk at the Temple can get familiar with the couple by reading Coalition or Cold War with Russia? American policy-makers and presidential candidates must now make a fateful decision—join Moscow in an alliance against ISIS, or persist in treating the Kremlin as an enemy.
By Stephen F. Cohen and Katrina vanden Heuvel November 30, 2015
3. Focused on the USA and Russia, RAGA strives for a global outreach. Below is a view of the globe from Lund, Sweden, where I started my "Western" career at the university there, and from Ireland.
By Jan Oberg, TFF co-founder and director
TFF PressInfo # 350 Lund, Sweden, November 30, 2015 <<French president Hollande has declared war - war on terror, George W. Bush style. Like September 11, 2001 wasn't a war, Paris November 13 wasn't a war. It was a criminal act. The war on terror has been an exceptionally stupid war. In the years before 9/11 about 400 people died worldwide by terrorist attack. The Global Terror Index informs us that 32.600 died in 2014 - 80 times more! And, still, the only answer everywhere is: More war on terror. The only - intelligent - exception is Italy whose PM has announced that Italy is going to counter terrorism by investing billions of Euros in culture, art and creativity - showing the world what civilisation is. Politicians and the mainstream media seemingly try to make us believe - as if we were uneducated - that we in the West are the main victims and innocent victims at that. We are neither. If knowledge may still play a little role in an era of propaganda and self-deception, no less than 78% of all dead from terrorism died in Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Pakistan and Syria. Not in Europe. Not in the U.S.>>

We may be about to witness a big Western narrative shift on Russia’s Syria policy
Special to The BRICS Post, by Danielle Ryan
November 17, 2015: Fast forward to this year’s G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey. What a difference a year makes. Gone are the carefully-timed snaps of a forlorn looking Russian president with no one to talk to at the breakfast table.
5. Robert Parry is incisive in analysing Turkey's attack on a Russian bomber
Date: Wed, 25 Nov 2015 11:38:17 -0500
Turkey Provokes Russia with Shoot-down
Exclusive: Turkey appears to have deliberately shot down a Russian warplane as a provocation designed to escalate tensions between NATO and Russia, a ploy that seems to have sucked in President Obama as he tries to look tough against Russia to appease his neocon critics, writes Robert Parry.
6. My Washington friend and RAGA associate Jon Utley calls attention to the quest of American conservatives (the true ones, not the fake "conservative" Neocons) for a sound US foreign policy

8. Nicolai Petro inteviewed by David Speedie
“The Putin Worldview, Russia in Syria, and the Ukraine Elections,” Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs, November 5, 2015
Professor Petro and I, while on the faculty of Monterey Institute of International Studies during late 1980s, established there Center for Contemporary Russian Studies. This was when "Soviet studies" were in the vogue. However, we foresaw and predicted the emergence ofnational Russia on the ruins of Communism. We published a series of books predictive of Russia's non-Communist future, including my own, Vladislav Krasnov, Russia Beyond Communism: A Chronicle of National Rebirth. It is now available in Russian translation
Новая Россия: от коммунизма к национальному возрождению.
As I observe with disgust how US political demagogues, including presidential candidates, whip up the spirit of islamophobia, threaten to register Muslim US citizens and even suggest returning to the practice of internment, a sort of American GULAG (like for the Japanese US citizens in WWII), RAGA calls its readers to tolerance and good will and asks to do something that will make you feel good about your country and yourself. Here is an initiative on which USA, Russia, EU and everybody else can work together.
<<We, the undersigned, call upon all political powers: beyond all questions of political affiliation, and in the true spirit of human solidarity and decency, to categorize the crimes being committed by ISIS and other Takfiri terrorists against Christians, Twelver Shiites, Ismailis, Alawis, Sufis, traditional Sunnis, and others, as acts of religious, cultural, and ethnic genocide.>> http://www.change.org/p/all-political-players-the-genocide-initiative
Please publicize it on facebook etc.
You may also want to SIGN THE COVENANTS INITIATIVE HTTP://COVENANTSINITIATIVE.COM/
In response to the clash of barbarisms that is presently laying the world in ruins, interested Muslims have elected to take the rare opportunity presented by the publication of Dr. John Morrow's The Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad with the Christians of theWorld to launch “The Covenants Initiative,” which asks all Muslims, Sunni, Shi’ite, and Sufi, from all schools of jurisprudence and spiritual paths, including scholars and non-scholars, to append their names to the following declaration: http://covenantsinitiative.com/
I feel proud to announce that I have translated Dr. Morrow's booklet Six Covenants of the Prophet Mohammad with the Chistians of histime into Russian and am looking for publishers and new translations to Tatar, Bashkir, Ingush and other languages of Russia. I would appreciate hearing from volunteers.
Now the pics below are taken by myself during my annual Thanksgiving pilgrimage to San Francisco and Monterey Bay area to see my family and renew old friendships.
Happy Holiday Season to all!
Malice to None. Good Will to All.
Peace and Justice to the World.
миру мир и благоволение в сердцах
