George's Journalism & Public Service Experience

Wladislaw "George" Krasnow is a business consultant and intercultural communications specialist for Russia and the Newly Independent States (N.I.S.) of the former Soviet Union. He has a proven track record aiding business firms and organizations with advice, assistance, translation/interpretation, training, and preparation for penetrating the emerging markets in Russia and the N.I.S.

George was born in Perm, Russia and became a naturalized United States Citizen in 1976. He is fluent in Russian, English, and Swedish. In addition, he has speaks German and basic Japanese. He now makes his home in Alexandria, Virginia.

 


BUSINESS BACKGROUND

W. George Krasnow has traveled extensively in Siberia, the Urals, and Central Russia. He arranged negotiations between the Russian Minister of Agriculture and a group of American businessmen; lectured at the Diplomatic Academy and the Military Political Academy; attended several business conferences; met with dozens of Russian government and business leaders; represented the Russian Agricultural Commodities Exchange and the Chernobyl-Help Agency; served as a consultant with Shuco International Inc.; was a fellow of the International Art Galleries Association; and created a database for business contacts in Russia.

In 1992 George founded the Russian American Goodwill Associates (RAGA) in northern Virginia. To facilitate the development of trade, commerce and cultural exchange between Russian and the United States. RAGA assists businesses with translation, interpretation, negotiation, travel support, training, analysis and forecasting. Click here to view a selected list of recent assignments.

JOURNALISM & PUBLIC SERVICE

W. George Krasnow was an editor of Radio Moscow's Foreign Broadcast (1960-62). He has appeared in interviews on CNN-TV, C-SPAN, and NPR. He served as a panelist for the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management Conference in Washington DC in October, 1993 shortly after serving as a Guest Lecturer at the Institute of World Politics in August, 1993. From 1990 to 1993, George was a member of the National Board of the Congress of Russian Americans (CRA).

He has published many articles in scholarly journals and Op-Ed columns for major U.S. Newspapers.
